The altitude–temperature integrated test chamber, also known as a high–low temperature and low-pressure test chamber, a plateau environment simulation chamber, or a temperature–pressure integrated testing system, is a comprehensive artificial climate‑simulation device. It can precisely simulate, under controlled conditions, either simultaneously or sequentially, various altitudes (low pressure) and extreme temperature environments, while optionally incorporating multiple environmental stressors such as humidity, oxygen concentration, wind speed, and solar radiation. This system serves as a climate‑replication platform that brings the “Qinghai–Tibet Plateau” into the laboratory, with broad applications in aerospace, national defense and military industries, new‑energy vehicles, high‑altitude medicine, and other fields. It is used to evaluate the adaptability, reliability, and safety of equipment, materials, and personnel when exposed to high‑altitude, low‑pressure, and hypoxic conditions.

Main functions and simulation environment:
1. Altitude Simulation: The test chamber can simulate atmospheric pressure conditions ranging from sea level to extremely high altitudes. For example, the global climate‑environment simulation module at Geely’s Thor Power New Energy Testing Center can replicate altitudes between 5 meters and 5,000 meters, and can achieve an elevation change equivalent to traveling from Ningbo to Tibet—5,000 meters—in just 30 minutes. Furthermore, the high‑altitude pressure simulation chamber can even simulate pressure levels from sea level up to 8,000 meters, enabling negative‑pressure tests at 10 kPa.
2. Temperature Simulation: The temperature range is typically very broad, spanning from extremely low to extremely high temperatures. Geely’s test chamber covers a range of –40°C to 60°C, with temperature transitions achievable within 4 hours; Great Wall Motor’s high-altitude simulation laboratory operates from –30°C to 45°C; and the high-altitude low-pressure integrated environmental chamber can simulate temperatures from –70°C to 150°C.
3. Humidity Simulation: It can simulate a range of humidity conditions, from dry environments to highly humid ones. For example, Geely’s test chamber offers a humidity simulation range of 10%–90% RH, while the high-altitude, low-pressure integrated environmental chamber can replicate humidity levels as low as 5% RH, providing full coverage across temperatures from −70°C to +150°C and relative humidity from 5% RH.
4. Other environmental factors: Some test chambers can also simulate environmental conditions such as solar radiation, rainfall, snowfall, and fog. Geely’s test chamber simulates solar radiation at 300–1200 W/m², with a maximum irradiation area of 6 m × 2.5 m; Great Wall Motor’s vehicle‑environment wind tunnel laboratory can accurately replicate typical global climates and complex weather conditions, including intense solar radiation, rainfall, and snowfall.
